Job Description:
We are seeking a skilled Cost Manager to join our team in Canberra. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing expert cost management services across various stages of construction projects, particularly for government agencies.
The ideal candidate will have a recognised degree in Quantity Surveying or Construction Management and 3-10+ years of experience in cost management roles. Previous experience working on construction projects for Government agencies is highly desirable.
The role involves developing and maintaining detailed cost plans, conducting thorough risk assessments and value engineering exercises, preparing and analysing tender documentation, negotiating with contractors and suppliers, monitoring and reporting on project costs, and liaising with clients and consultants.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
* Recognised degree in Quantity Surveying or Construction Management
* 3-10+ years of experience in cost management roles
* Previous experience working on construction projects for Government agencies (highly desirable)
* Experience liaising or managing clients, contractors, and consultants
* Preferable RICS and/or AIQS accreditation
* Proficiency in CostX software
* Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data and prepare detailed cost reports
* Excellent knowledge of Australian construction standards, building codes, and regulations
