As an Aboriginal Community Liaison Officer (ACLO), you will be responsible for enhancing relationships between police and the local Aboriginal Community, as well as establishing effective communication and networks between the police, Aboriginal community, government and non-government agencies. Participate in the development and implementation of appropriate strategies to improve service delivery to customers based on customer needs. Attending to welfare needs and providing support to Aboriginal persons in custody working alongside Aboriginal Community Justice Program (ACJP) members. About You The successful candidate will ideally have the following skills and experience: Demonstrated knowledge, experience and understanding of the Victorian Aboriginal community, including the historical and contemporary issues impacting on the community. Demonstrated community engagement and experience working with the Victorian Aboriginal community. Demonstrated communication and interpersonal skills to negotiate and articulate with internal and external stakeholders.
