About the Role

As our new CNE, you'll be the ultimate 'nurse whisperer'—guiding both new and experienced nurses through the magical (and sometimes messy!) world of 0–5s in both universal service and SNF (Sustaining NSW Families) program. From mastering lactation support to navigating complex family dynamics, you'll lead with purpose, dedicated time for clinical supervision, and a down-to-earth team that truly has your back. You will provide support and clinical development/ training to staff while fostering a preceptor/mentor role. The role formulates, coordinates, and evaluates unit based educational programs; assessment and demonstration of clinical practice.

The aim of the position is to use a participation methodology to build:

* The capacity of individuals to deliver safe, evidenced based care, incorporating reflective practice with the aim of continual improvement.
* A patient and family focused culture that supports the NUM and staff to deliver innovative models of care and proactively manage change.
* The position contributes to the overall improvement of health service delivery.

Ideal Candidate

* Current nursing registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia (AHPRA) and relevant post registration experience in the specialty.
* Holds relevant clinical or education post registration qualifications, or such education and clinical experience.
* Understanding and experience in various teaching methodologies including the ability to plan, conduct and evaluate unit based education.
* Understanding of and commitment to education and promotion of evidenced based practice and knowledge translation.
* Well-developed leadership, communication skills and problem-solving skills with a demonstrated ability liaise in a multidisciplinary environment.
* Completed or willing to complete Advanced Nurse Practice course for SNF (Sustaining NSW Families).
* Extensive experience in Child and Family Health Nursing field preferred.
