In this hands-on position, you'll lead the charge on major SAP upgrade, migration and development projects, partnering closely with stakeholders across the business to deliver impactful functional enhancements across asset management, finance, and procurement. Your role will be pivotal in bridging technical solutions with business needs - gathering requirements, assessing change implications, and ensuring seamless implementation.
This is more than just project management - it's about driving transformation, fostering collaboration, and making SAP work smarter for the entire organisation.
Other key accountabilities include:

* Apply project and change management discipline, processes and tools to identify, design and implement a fit for purpose solution for the project.
* Rapidly identify and assess key stakeholders, gather technical, functional and business requirements and define objectives and benefits for each project.
* Develop a business case for each project that includes the high-level strategy, budget, timeline, technology stack and preferred vendor selection, for presentation to the Sunwater board. Monitor and report on project delivery status including producing documentation as required.
* Work closely with Sunwater's Enterprise and Solution Architecture teams to champion continuous improvement of SAP Delivery, leveraging enablers such as test automation, Data Management tooling and enterprise architecture management.
You'll bring at least 10 years of experience managing complex projects within asset-intensive industries, backed by a strong track record of driving results in challenging environments.
The ideal candidate will hold a tertiary qualification in Information Technology or a related discipline, along with a recognised Project Management certification - such as PMP, PRINCE2, or an equivalent credential. In addition, you will have:
* Strong Communication Skills – Demonstrated experience communicating and collaborating with cross functional teams.
* Flexibility and Adaptability – Ability to work in ambiguous situations with resilience, tenacity and a propensity to persevere and able to move rapidly and seamlessly between strategic vision and tactical level work plans.
* Risk Mitigation Expertise – Proactively identify and manage project risks, issues and dependencies, anticipating and effectively communicating implications to other projects within the portfolio for coordinated and seamless project execution.
