The Canberra Institute of Technology (CIT) is seeking suitably qualified tradespeople to join us in shaping the 'tradies of the future!'. As an educator with us you have the power to directly impact the future of the fabrication industry within the ACT and surrounds by passing on your extensive experience and industry knowledge to a classroom full of students waiting to learn from you. We are seeking someone who is a strong, confident communicator, with excellent technical skills and a passion for learning. You will be flexible in your approach to passing on your knowledge and be able to work with a diverse range of people. Your work as an educator will require digital skills as we use a range of programs to deliver our training and email to correspond with our students and colleagues. WHAT DO I NEED? To be successful in this position you must have the following: Possession of relevant formal vocational qualifications (relevant trade qualification or equivalent minimum, Australian equivalent); and Demonstrate a broad range of current industry skills and experience. To become an Educator at CIT you must hold one of the following qualifications: Hold a Training and Assessment Certificate IV (such as a TAE40116 or equivalent) OR Complete a minimum of the Enterprise Trainer - Presenting Skills Set and/or Enterprise Trainer - Mentoring Skills Set and/or Enterprise Trainer and/or Assessor Skill Set and complete the full qualification in 18 months of engagement CIT can assist in you gaining the full qualification, further information available in CIT's Enterprise Agreements. Eligibility/Other requirements: MANDATORY QUALIFICATIONS AND/OR REGISTRATIONS/LICENCING Refer to the ACTPS CIT Educators EA 2023-2026, sub-Clause M10.4. All new employees at engaged at or below the Educator Level 1.2 (EL1.2) with Vocational Education Training (VET) responsibilities must: Hold a Training and Assessment Certificate IV level qualification (such as a TAE40116 or equivalent); or Where the full qualification is not held, hold as a minimum prior to employment as an employee in any form, qualifications as required by the Standards for RTOs; and Complete the full qualification within 12 months of engagement and be supervised by a suitably qualified person. Clause M10.8 states that all employees at Educator Level 1.3 (EL1.3) to the Head of Department Level must hold a full Training and Assessment Certificate IV level qualification (such as a TAE40116 or equivalent) and a Diploma of Vocational Education and Training (or equivalent). INDUSTRY EXPERIENCE In accordance with sub-Clause M10.10 of the ACTPS CIT Educators EA 2023 - 2026. All employees at Educator Level 1 or Level 2 are required to have relevant industry experience and vocational qualifications equal to that being taught, or as specified in the applicable training package or accredited curriculum specifications. Certificate III in the following but not limited to: Certificate III in Engineering – Fabrication Trade or equivalent.
