The Company Our client is a well-respected Tasmanian consultancy known for its welcoming culture, technical capability, and commitment to delivering practical, community-focused engineering solutions. With a strong presence across the state, they partner with councils, government agencies, developers, and architects to deliver a wide range of projects, including civil infrastructure and building services, that support sustainable growth. As their Hobart office continues to expand, they're seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to join their Building Services Group, contributing meaningfully to electrical projects across Tasmania, including projects in the health, education, retail, tourism, custodial, government, and commercial office sectors, while enjoying a workplace built on trust, flexibility, and genuine support.

The Opportunity

This Senior Electrical Engineer role offers the chance to take ownership of building services projects, working across all phases from feasibility and concept design through to detailed design and construction administration. You'll be responsible for delivering high-quality electrical engineering solutions for building projects across Tasmania, including health, education, retail, tourism, custodial, government, and commercial office sectors.

Key Responsibilities

* Designing and managing documentation for electrical systems, including power, lighting, IT and communications, security, and dry fire systems
* Working on single-discipline and multidisciplinary building and infrastructure projects
* Participating in all project phases, from feasibility and concept design to detailed design and construction administration
* Building strong relationships with clients, contractors, and project teams

About You

The ideal candidate is a practical, solutions-focused electrical engineer who enjoys working on building projects across multiple sectors. You will thrive in a collaborative team environment and value trust, flexibility, and professional support.

You Will Bring

* A minimum of 7 years' experience as an Electrical Engineer in a building services consultancy role
* Relevant tertiary qualifications or equivalent technical expertise in electrical design
* Strong understanding of Australian design standards and building codes
* Excellent organisational skills and the ability to manage projects effectively
* Strong interpersonal skills to build relationships with clients, colleagues, and stakeholders
