The Role:
You will have a dual role, spending approximately 60% of your time on the tools and 40% supporting the coordination of site activities. You'll ensure carpentry works are delivered to a high standard while also helping manage day-to-day site operations.
Working closely with Site and Project Managers, you'll assist in coordinating subcontractors, maintaining site safety, and ensuring quality, program, and budget expectations are met. This role is ideal for a skilled carpenter looking to step into a leadership pathway while remaining hands-on.
Key Responsibilities:
* Support the Project team with site safety and ensure all procedures are monitored according to the Project Safety Management Plan.
* Deliver and monitor works against the current construction program and ensure all trades are coordinating with each other.
* Participate in safety/toolbox meetings, discussing OHS, environmental factors, and quality issues each week.
* Support the planning and delivery of commercial carpentry works in line with project schedules.
* Complete carpentry works as per scope and ensure that works are constructed in accordance with the engineering designs, contract specifications, and authority requirements.
* Coordinate site logistics, materials, and resource allocation.
* Report to senior management on a regular basis and advise of any current or potential issues.
* Ensure the Site Diary is completed by the COB each day with fully recorded information.
About You:
* Minimum 3 years' experience in commercial carpentry.
* Strong understanding of construction methods, safety standards, and building codes.
* Ability to read and interpret plans and specifications.
* White Card (Construction Induction).
* Minimum 1 year's experience in commercial construction.
* Experience in, and a clear understanding of site Quality, OH&S, and Environmental requirements.
