About the RoleThis is a full time fixed term role until 5 May 2028.
The Technical Analyst and Release Coordinator plays a key role in coordinating release activities, identifying effective technical solutions, and supporting the delivery of high-quality system outcomes. This role also acts as a sub-lead within the Implementation stream, providing guidance and coordination support to the team of technical analysts involved in release and solution delivery.
The Technical Analyst And Release Coordinator Will
* Collaborate with technical, functional, and integration analysts to identify, assess, design, and validate solutions across CASES21, SI, and connected integration services to ensure alignment with business and technical requirements.
* Coordinate release activities across development, testing, and production environments, ensuring readiness, compliance with governance, and timely delivery.
* Perform technical, data, and integration impact analysis, assessing how changes in CASES21, SI, or associated interfaces affect downstream and upstream systems, ensuring alignment with enterprise architecture and system standards.
* Translate business requirements into clear technical specifications, working with developers and testers, and integration specialists to ensure successful implementation.
* Support the release management lifecycle by maintaining accurate documentation, facilitating release readiness reviews, managing deployment checklists, and contributing to post-release validation and continuous improvement activities.
* Provide technical troubleshooting and guidance, analysing issues across CASES21, SI, and integration points, resolving issues efficiently while maintaining system integrity and performance.
* Assist in overseeing technical and release-related activities, contributing to planning, task coordination, quality assurance, and ensuring consistency in approaches across the implementation team.
* Foster strong stakeholder relationships across business and technical teams, ensuring transparent communication and alignment throughout the release and solution delivery process.

* Specialist Expertise in Release Management and Solution Analysis: Strong knowledge of software release management processes and tools, including environment preparation, deployment coordination, and post-release validation.

Desirable Qualifications And Experience
Mandatory
* Minimum 3 years' experience in System Analysis or related roles, delivering analysis artefacts on high-complexity ICT projects.
* Proven ability to develop and mentor teams by fostering a positive, collaborative environment, setting clear goals, and providing tailored guidance and support to drive performance and growth.
* Experience in release coordination and project management, including planning, scheduling, and overseeing the delivery of system releases across multiple environments.
* Ability to operate effectively in a high-technology environment, including experience with Salesforce, Microsoft Office Suite, database systems, and data management processes.
* Accreditation for Working with Children in Children's services.
Desirable
* Formal qualification in Business and Technical Analysis, such as CBAP or equivalent.
* Demonstrated experience working in an Agile delivery environment.
* Strong practical knowledge of Student Information Systems (SIS) such as CASES21, or similar enterprise education systems.
* Formal qualification or training in Project Management or Release Management (e.g., PRINCE2, PMP, or similar).

The Information Management and Technology Division (IMTD) is responsible for supporting one of the largest technology networks in Victoria and leading the department's technology, digital capability, business systems and digital transformation. This network consists of Schools, Corporate and Early Childhood Education (ECE) including a school user base of more than 1500 Government schools, 50,000 teachers and 650,000 students.
IMTD provides innovation and leadership in the transformation and management of the Department's digital capability through the implementation of solutions on the Department's cloud environment (IaaS), enterprise cloud platforms (PaaS) and software (SaaS), using agile practices with a focus on user experience, security, and integration.
