This is an opportunity to become part of a team supporting the Adelaide community through the operation of the Christies Beach, and Aldinga Wastewater Treatment Plants. Responsibilities
- As an Operator Maintainer, you will operate the Wastewater Treatment Plants and Reuse facilities and apply your Mechanical trade skills to deliver scheduled and reactive maintenance tasks that ensure asset reliability and operational continuity. Support Capital projects and process improvements.
- Operate the plants to ensure safe, efficient, and environmentally compliant performance.
- Undertake fault-finding and troubleshooting to resolve issues quickly.
- Carry out preventative and corrective maintenance, as well as implement process improvements.
- Monitor SCADA and onsite systems, respond to alarms, and maintain process stability.
- Conduct process adjustments, routine sampling, and basic laboratory testing.
- Support maintenance activities including basic fault-finding and preventive tasks.
- Maintain accurate operational records and chemical stock levels.
- Participate in capital works activities and liaise with contractors.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives to optimise plant performance.
What we are looking for
We would be very keen to hear from you if you have experience in any of the following:
- Water or wastewater treatment operations experience or interest.
- Process plant operations or maintenance.
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to prioritise and show initiative.
- Attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to work as a team member or independently.
- A current unrestricted driver’s licence.
Desirable
- A Certificate III in Water Operations or equivalent qualifications.
Hours, travel and on-call
As an integral member of the team, you will be willing to work flexible hours to meet operational demands, travel to metropolitan sites as required, and participate in a rotating on-call roster which includes additional payment and allowances.
