Strategic Growth and Transformation

The Mergers and Acquisitions team plays a pivotal role in driving growth strategy, providing leadership and commercial advice on business development, strategic investment, and capital markets transactions.

Our team is focused on delivering best-in-class leadership, advice, and transaction execution. Our capabilities extend across business development initiatives, partnerships, strategic investments, acquisitions, divestments, portfolio restructuring, and capital markets transactions.

Our key responsibilities include identifying and assessing potential transactions, executing all aspects of the deal, including market and financial analysis, due diligence, transaction structuring, negotiation, and preparing materials and agreements for approval and execution.


About the Role:

This role partners with senior management, M&A, and strategy teams on critical strategic initiatives, including portfolio restructuring, business development, and corporate finance transactions.


Key Responsibilities:

* Support operational management on business acquisitions and divestments;
* Assist in the transaction due diligence process;
* Undertake research on potential growth strategies and acquisitions;
* Build detailed financial valuation and returns models;
* Prepare and present materials for Woolworths leadership on potential transactions, growth strategies, and transaction approvals;


Requirements:

Relevant undergraduate qualification in Finance, Accounting, Commerce, Economics or similar discipline is essential. At least 18 months relevant work experience gained in top-tier investment banking, strategy consulting, private equity, venture capital investing, Big 4 accounting firms, or similar corporate development roles is required.

Strong financial acumen, including valuation/financial modelling skills, is essential. A business partnering approach to work, using data, insights, and critical problem-solving skills to ensure quality advisory interaction and deliver impactful change, is also necessary.

A good understanding of the retail/consumer industry is desirable.
