The Role
Reporting to the Chief Commercial & Risk Officer, the Head of Health, Safety, Environment and Quality is a senior enterprise leadership role accountable for setting, leading and assuring VAE Group's HSEQ strategy, governance, systems and performance across all operations. The role is accountable for strengthening VAE’s safety culture, maintaining robust and effective management systems, enabling operational excellence across service, construction and project delivery, and ensuring the business meets its legal, regulatory, client and certification obligations.
Some key responsibilities include but are not limited to:
* Lead and execute the Group HSEQ strategy, governance, and performance framework
* Provide executive-level advice and reporting on risk, compliance, and safety performance
* Oversee our IMS, HSEQ systems and ISO compliance (45001, 9001, 14001)
* Lead the Health and Safety Manager and broader HSEQ team to ensure effective day-to-day safety support, field engagement, incident response, site inspections, audits, training and frontline advisory services.
* Lead VAE’s quality framework to support consistent delivery, defect prevention, installation quality, commissioning confidence and client satisfaction.
* Ensure environmental compliance and sustainability practices are embedded
* Deliver executive reporting, audit, and assurance frameworksBuild strong relationships with clients, subcontractors, and regulators
About You
* Senior leadership experience in HSEQ within HVAC maintenance and construction services
* Strong knowledge of WHS legislation, ISO systems, and risk management
* Proven ability to drive cultural improvement and safety performance
* Commercially aware with the ability to balance risk, quality, and business outcomes
* Stakeholder influencing skills across executive and operational teams
* A flair for internal marketing of our safety and quality expectations
