As a Senior Software Engineer in Global Merchant Services Technology (GMST) you will be crafting scalable solutions that can be delivered iteratively to enhance business value, building core features and functions of card transaction systems on our distributed platform deployed in the cloud. You will actively participate in agile teams, write code and unit tests, work with API specifications and automation, and provide technical leadership to aid in the development of engineers within the team. GMST engineers use Java technologies to drive innovation while also exploring opportunities to adopt new technologies.
Responsibilities
* Mentor junior Software Engineers and cross‐functional team of colleagues, fostering a culture of excellence and innovation.
* Direct the design, development, testing, and deployment of software applications and systems.
* Oversee a variety of tasks, platforms, and technologies to expand new and existing software to meet changing requirements.
* Write automated unit tests to ensure correctness and stability.
* Provide technical guidance to ensure adherence to best practices and coding standards.
* Monitor software performance and implement improvements to optimize functionality.
* Analyze technical challenges and provide innovative solutions to enhance software quality and efficiency.
* Collaborate with cross‐functional teams to ensure seamless integration and deployment of software solutions.
* Collaborate and co‐create effectively with teams in product and the business to align technology initiatives with business objectives.
Qualifications
* Degree in computer science, computer engineering, or a related field.
* Significant hands‐on experience in application architecture, design, software development, and testing, preferably in an agile professional environment.
* Minimum 10 years of proven experience using Java, React, Vert.x, Spring, Spark, Postgres, Ignite, Restful APIs, Redis, and Kafka.
* Strong engineering and professional leadership skills.
* Demonstrated ability to lead, partner, and collaborate multi‐functionally across many engineering teams.
