About the opportunity
The Senior Lecturer in Police Studies focuses on delivering high-quality teaching in Police Studies and professional/engagement activities aligned with the discipline. Expertise in Law, Psychology, or Cyber Crime/Security is desirable, with teaching duties already defined and supported by a growing research institute and evolving school structure. Relocation assistance may be considered for the right candidate.
What you'll do:
* Lead the delivery of high-quality Police Studies education that supports strong student engagement and prepares graduates for contemporary policing and public safety roles.
* Contribute to the design and renewal of practice-informed curriculum that reflects current policing practice, policy, and emerging issues in law enforcement and community safety.
* Support and mentor colleagues in effective teaching practice, curriculum development, and the adoption of new learning technologies.
* Coordinate and deliver scholarly coursework units of a high standard, including development of teaching materials, delivery of classes (online and face-to-face), and assessment of student learning.
* Build and maintain productive relationships within the University and with policing agencies, industry partners, and the broader community to support teaching and professional relevance.
* Engage in research activities that complement teaching responsibilities and contribute to the body of knowledge in policing.
What we're looking for:
* A PhD or equivalent qualification in a relevant field.
* Experience in University-level teaching and learning activities.
* A record of contributing to the building and maintaining of effective and productive links locally and nationally with the discipline, profession, industry (where relevant) and wider community.
* Engagement in research activities that inform and enhance teaching practices.
Salary details
Appointment to this role will be at Academic Level C and will have a total remuneration package of up to $184,076 comprising base salary within the range of $138,536 to $157,330 plus 17% superannuation.
To be eligible for this position, you are required to hold Australian or New Zealand Citizenship, permanent residency or a valid visa that enables you to fulfil the requirements of this role.
