PATA Support Services is seeking a Disability Support Worker to join our team in SHEPPARTON. As a casual Disability Support Worker, you will be responsible for providing high-quality, person-centred support to individuals with a range of disabilities, empowering them to live independently and achieve their personal goals.
What you'll be doing
* Assist clients with daily living activities such as personal care, meal preparation, and household tasks
* Facilitate social and recreational activities to promote community inclusion and enhance the wellbeing of clients
* Provide emotional support and encouragement to clients, advocating for their needs and preferences
* Maintain accurate records and documentation to ensure compliance with organizational policies and procedures
* Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement personalised support plans
* Uphold the principles of dignity, respect, and empowerment in all interactions with clients
What we're looking for
* A relevant qualification in Disability Support, Community Services, or a related field
* Certificate III in Individual Support (Disability) or Certificate IV in Disability
* Experience in providing person-centred support to individuals with a range of disabilities
* Minimum 12 months' experience in providing person-centred support to individuals with a range of disabilities
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport and work effectively with clients, families, and colleagues
* A compassionate and empathetic approach, combined with a commitment to upholding the rights and autonomy of individuals with disabilities
* Flexibility and adaptability to accommodate the diverse needs and schedules of clients
* A valid driver's licence and access to reliable transportation
* A valid driver's licence and own reliable, insured vehicle for community access and transport duties

Essential Criteria once successful
* A current First Aid Qualification.
* Current First Aid and CPR certification
* NDIS Worker Screening Clearance.
* NDIS Worker Induction.
* We are looking for staff who are naturally positive and caring.
* Flexible and available to work a mix of day, evening, overnight (sleepover) and weekend shifts.
* Working with Children Check (if supporting clients under 18 years)
