About the role
Reporting to the Audit Director in a close-knit team, you'll play the "middle layer" that keeps audits moving smoothly—lifting quality, supporting compliance, and helping develop juniors.
Key responsibilities
* Support audit planning, risk assessment and tailored audit programs
* Perform walkthroughs, testing, and documentation of risk and controls
* Execute substantive procedures over key financial reporting areas
* Prepare and maintain review-ready working papers in CaseWare (Desktop & Agile)
* Assist with audit completion and reporting aligned to ASAs, AASB, IFRS, and the Corporations Act 2001
* Liaise with clients professionally to obtain evidence and resolve queries
* Review and support junior team members' work (as appropriate)
* Manage timelines across multiple engagements and meet key milestones
About you
Essential
* 2–4 years' experience in Australian external audit and financial reporting
* Able to handle sections of an audit independently and liaise with clients under supervision
* Studying toward, or interested in commencing, ACCA,CA or CPA
* Strong technical grounding in ASAs, AASB, IFRS, audit methodology and risk assessment
* Confident communicator (written and verbal) with sound professional judgement
* Working knowledge of CaseWare (or similar) and strong Excel (PivotTables, VLOOKUP, analysis)
Nice to have
* Exposure to NFP, financial services/AFSL, SMEs, trust accounts
* Comfortable juggling multiple engagements and coordinating evidence requests
