Information Systems Technician
The Opportunity
KBR Defence and Technology Solutions is a leader in Defence Mission Planning System development and integration. D&TS uniquely couples aviation mission planning environments, operational and engineering support, training, agile software development, and systems implementation, enhancing current Defence capabilities while designing the future military Mission Planning Environments. The Information Systems Technician will work on technology for the deployment of secure government systems in support of Defence.
Key Responsibilities
* Technical support to the development, introduction to service, sustainment and evolution of software and hardware, data, tools and processes in fixed and deployed environments for ADF mission planning systems.
* Technical support to the development of solutions to resolve issues with data support for MPS.
* Maintenance of physical server and networking hardware.
* Develop, manage, and maintain systems configuration for MPS laptops.
* Installing, configuring, testing and deploying Mission Planning software and supporting applications.
* Provide effective support to ensure all mission systems are working and meet the operational needs of users.
* Provide support on Mission Planning applications and data hosted on Defence strategic networks.
* Technical support to the security and accreditation of Mission Planning Systems.
* Identifying and managing program and technical risks and issues within the support to operations scope.
* Reviewing, verifying, and improving documentation produced in support of Mission Planning Systems development and sustainment.
* Meet assigned task within Project deliverables.
Essential Qualifications
* Working Experience with Defence ICT environments (including Defence Protected Environment (DPE) and Defence Secret Environment (DSE)).
* Microsoft Windows Desktop Imaging.
* Microsoft Windows Server and Desktop Security Administration.
* Microsoft Windows Server Administration.
* Administrative Experience with Microsoft Windows based Desktop Operating Systems (Windows 10 – Windows 11).
* Administrative Experience with Microsoft Office products.
* Windows and Linux based scripting.
* Defence ICT Security Accreditation.
Desirable Qualifications
* Working knowledge of Aviation Mission Planning and knowledge of AC-C2CS environment.
* Administrative experience with Linux Operating Systems.
* Database Administration.
* Distributed File System Administration.
* Mobile Device Management.
* iOS Administration.
* Python scripting.
* Enterprise‐level endpoint protection administration.
* Enterprise‐level backup and recovery administration.
* Software Testing.
* Knowledge and Experience of the use and handling of Geospatial Data.
