About Pedare
Pedare is a Reception to Year 12, co‐educational, independent, Anglican and Uniting Church School. Pedare is located in the north‐eastern suburbs of Adelaide, at Golden Grove, where there are almost 1,200 students enrolled, and approximately 200 staff employed. The College is structured into three schools; Junior School (Reception to Year 5), Middle School (Years 6 to 9) and Senior School (Years 10 to 12).
The Opportunity
Join Our Team as a Payroll Officer (Permanent, 0.8 FTE). We are looking for a meticulous, organised, and service‐driven Payroll Officer to join our collaborative team. Working Monday to Thursday, you will play a vital role in keeping our College's finance and personnel operations running smoothly by delivering seamless, end‐to‐end payroll processing and key administrative support to the Finance Manager.

Key Responsibilities
* End‐to‐End Payroll: Maintain the system for accurate and timely payment of salaries and wages using dedicated payroll software.
* Compliance & Reporting: Administer income tax, fringe benefits tax, Return to Work, superannuation, and employee deductions.
* Data & Census Support: Assist the Finance Manager with annual reporting, including the Non‐Government Schools annual census, Department of Education Financial Questionnaire, and ABS returns.
* Personnel Support: Assist the Manager People and Culture with compiling accurate salary data for WGEA submissions, and maintain staff leave and personal records.
* Financial Tasks: Provide routine financial support and general administrative assistance as required.
Skills & Experience Required
* Industry Experience: Previous experience in a payroll or similar role within a school or comparable business environment.
* Award Interpretation: Demonstrated expertise navigating and interpreting Enterprise Agreements and modern awards.
* Technical Savvy: High proficiency in Excel, data analysis, and mathematical calculations. Experience with systems like Access MicrOpay, Maze Financials, or ConnX (or similar software) is highly desirable.
* Systems Knowledge: Strong familiarity with Google Workspace (G‐Suite) and Microsoft Office.
* Personal Attributes: Outstanding attention to detail, the ability to meet strict fortnightly deadlines, excellent communication skills, and a proven track record of handling sensitive data with total discretion.
Compliance Documents Required
* Current Responding to Risks of Harm, Abuse and Neglect (RRHAN) Certificate
* Current South Australian Working With Children Check (WWCC)
* Current First Aid and CPR Certificate (preferred)
* Relevant Academic Transcripts and Qualifications (Degrees/Diplomas)
