Job Description
AbbVie is seeking a dynamic and results-driven Supply Chain Manager to lead end-to-end supply chain operations, ensuring the seamless delivery of life-changing medicines to patients across our business in Australia and New Zealand. The role is a key partner to Commercial Operations, Demand and Supply Planning, and Finance, and is responsible for ensuring an effective S&OP process. In this role, you will lead the ANZ supply chain strategy through order and wholesaler management, distribution and logistics through third‐party providers, collaborating cross-functionally to optimise procurement, logistics, inventory management, and distribution processes while driving continuous improvement and operational excellence.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
* Accountable for the ANZ distribution services budget, inventory management requirements, financial planning, and LBE processes related to the distribution and logistics function. Manage agreed sales and stock‐on‐hand targets with pharmaceutical wholesalers, support period‐end close activities, and deliver annual cost‐saving targets.
* Provide central leadership and functional coordination across ANZ, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and promoting AbbVie Ways of Working.
* Ensure delivery of Global Distribution & Central Services (GD&C) and Australia Affiliate performance metrics.
* Lead the ANZ Supply Team to deliver best-in-class operations through regular coaching and development and fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
* Partner with the ANZ Leadership Team to support business growth through the operating model.
* Lead the end-to-end ANZ supply chain strategy including third‐party logistics service provider management, route‐to‐market optimization and supplier relationship management (SRM).
* Partner with the commercial team to lead supply chain readiness for successful new product launches and enable the commercial businesses to deliver best-in-class patient solutions and customer experiences.
* Support AbbVie Global Trade Compliance COE requirements, including import and export declarations, broker audit support, and closure of findings.
* Maintain strong internal business engagement, including brand support and representation on brand teams.
* Support operational and facility business continuity, security, and emergency management activities.
* Support AbbVie Logistics (VLOG) and global supply planning activities, including safety stock management and transportation optimization.
* Work closely with Regulatory Affairs and Quality Assurance to ensure compliance with ANZ regulations, GDP requirements, and AbbVie quality standards.
* Report any adverse event within 24 hours as per AbbVie's policies and procedures.
* Proactively participate in AbbVie's WHS programs, adhere to policies and promote a safe work environment at all times.
* Adhere to AbbVie's codes of conduct and compliance processes, including timely training and maintaining ethics and integrity.
* Other ad‐hoc duties such as administrative duties, as requested.
Qualifications
* Degree qualifications in Business, Supply Chain, Operations, or a related discipline are preferred.
* Minimum 5 years' experience in supply chain management within healthcare or a related industry.
* Proven leadership experience, including exposure to and collaboration with General Manager and Director‐level senior management.
* Strong knowledge of the pharmaceutical industry, including the Australian regulatory environment.
* Knowledge of commercial operations, wholesaler and pharmacy channels, and relevant payment and access models in the ANZ market.
* Strong understanding of go‐to‐market strategies and distribution models.
* Demonstrated experience in developing and executing supply chain strategy.
* Experience managing third‐party logistics (3PL) providers, including the successful delivery of continuous improvement initiatives.
* Experience managing relationships with wholesalers, pharmacies, and other key channel partners.
* Knowledge of pharmaceutical payment and access models, including self‐pay and co‐pay arrangements.
* Strong financial and business acumen.
* Excellent communication and presentation skills.
* Ability to work effectively in a cross‐functional and matrix environment.
* Strong stakeholder management and relationship‐building skills.
* Ability to support continuous improvement and contribute to business growth.
