Principal Finance Officer – Capital Projects & Infrastructure
Use your financial expertise to influence major capital investments, drive performance reporting, and support critical health infrastructure delivery.
Your New Role
As a key member of the Finance team, you will provide expert financial leadership and support across Metro South Health's capital program, helping ensure projects are delivered efficiently, accurately and in line with governance requirements. You will:
- Provide financial management, analysis and reporting support for a capital portfolio valued at approximately $1 billion, delivering insights that support strategic decision‐making.
- Coordinate financial reporting and capital expenditure monitoring for executive stakeholders, the Department of Health and Queensland Treasury.
- Partner with project managers to develop forecasts, cost models, budgets and financial plans that support the successful delivery of major infrastructure projects.
- Lead capital reporting processes, maintain key financial systems and data integrity, and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives across Assets & Infrastructure.
About you
We are looking for a proactive and technically skilled finance professional who can confidently provide strategic advice and build strong relationships across a complex stakeholder environment. You have:
- Demonstrated experience in financial management, accounting and reporting, ideally within large‐scale capital works, infrastructure or asset‐intensive environments.
- Strong technical expertise in capital accounting, financial analysis, forecasting and data interpretation, with advanced skills in SAP financial systems and Microsoft Excel.
- Highly developed communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to influence, collaborate and present complex financial information clearly.
- A continuous improvement mindset, with the ability to identify opportunities, solve problems and drive effective financial and business outcomes.
