About the opportunity

This is a 12-month parental leave opportunity to play a key role in managing CEFC's portfolio reporting and business intelligence capability, supporting the organisation's role in Australia's transition to net zero.

Reporting to the Head of Portfolio Management & Sustainability, the Business Intelligence Manager plays a central role in delivering high-quality, trusted insights and reporting across CEFC's entire investment portfolio. The role balances structured, recurring reporting with providing responses to ad hoc requests, often supporting our Government, Executive and public-facing communications.

You will manage one direct report and work closely with Portfolio Managers, our Public Affairs, and Marketing & Communications teams and IT colleagues.

The role you'll play

As Business Intelligence Manager, you will:

* Lead the delivery of regular portfolio reporting, including monthly, quarterly and annual reporting for internal, Executive and Government stakeholders.
* Partner closely with Public Affairs and Marketing & Communications to support Government briefings, external reporting, media requests and the Annual Report.
* Oversee reporting across portfolio performance, financial performance, technology and industry exposure, and sustainability metrics including emissions and avoided emissions.
* Manage end-to-end data flows, from portfolio manager inputs through to validation, quality assurance and final reporting outputs.
* Maintain and enhance CEFC's reporting environment, with a strong focus on Power BI, Excel and our underlying portfolio systems.
* Respond to ad hoc reporting and analysis requests driven by Government priorities, policy announcements and market activity
* Work with IT and internal stakeholders to improve reporting systems, dashboards and data structures over time.
* Delegate and prioritise work effectively across the reporting function, ensuring delivery timelines and quality standards are met.
* Day to Day management of one direct report including task delegation, coaching, development and support across technical capability.

To be successful in this role, you will bring:

* Minimum 5 years' experience in a business intelligence and/or reporting role, including managing and enhancing reliable, automated reporting processes.
* Strong technical capability, with deep hands-on experience using Power BI or comparable data warehousing and visualisation tools, alongside advanced Excel skills.
* Experience delivering structured, repeatable reporting as well as complex ad hoc analysis for senior stakeholders.
* Confidence working with large, long-dated datasets, including lifetime portfolio and asset-level reporting.
* A rigorous approach to data quality, validation and assurance, with persistence in following up inputs and resolving inconsistencies.
* Experience with financial and investment concepts and associated reporting metrics, or the confidence and aptitude to quickly develop this understanding.
* Experience improving and developing reporting systems, with an interest in emerging technologies and the application of AI in the data and reporting space.
* Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to translate complex information clearly for varied audiences.
* A practical, solutions-focused mindset, with the ability to operate calmly under time pressure and shifting priorities.
* The ability to think creatively and analytically, using data and insight to identify and implement continuous improvements.
* The ability to manage, support and coach a junior team member, with prior people management experience advantageous but not essential.
* Bachelor's degree in business, business intelligence or a related field preferred.
