Your Role at Our Hospital
You will be responsible for ensuring the effective daily operation of the Allied Health department, including scheduling, administration, billing, and debt functions. This will support the Allied Health Manager in maximizing the usage of the department's activity across both outpatient and private practice services.
The Position
* Provide direction, support, and supervision to administrative caregivers working in the Allied Health Department.
* Manage the orientation of new administrative caregivers to the department.
* In collaboration with the Allied Health Manager, manage the scheduling of the department to maximize activity, focusing on community need and hospital mission and values.
* Coordinate outpatient appointments in line with health fund billing rules and guidelines.
* Manage the outpatient and private practice billing matrix to facilitate accurate and timely billing of outpatients.
* Ensure all outpatients have appropriate fund checks and informed financial consent prior to attendance. Conduct an annual audit review of the informed financial consent process.
* Manage debt collection in collaboration with accounts receivable shared services team.
* Gather and provide information to facilitate effective communication across all departments and external customers as directed.
Experience in a patient administration role in a coordinator or team leader capacity, preferably within a healthcare environment is required.
The ability to manage resources effectively, meet deadlines, and prioritize workload accordingly is necessary for success.
