Gin Gin is in a DPA location.Qualification/Skills RequiredCurrent unrestricted registration with AHPRA as a General PractitionerExcellent communication skills with patients, families and colleaguesPractice InformationThis Family Medical Centre is a bulk billing clinic with the exception of items not covered by Medicare.Accredited Practice with AGPALThe clinic is 7 years old and adjoins Gin Gin Hospital – completed in 2016Friendly, helpful staff who take pride in being efficient and polite to both colleagues and patientsThe Family Medical Centre provides a diverse range of services, including: Women's and Men's health, indigenous health, chronic disease management, ECGs, spirometry, ABIs, childhood immunisation, skin cancer checks, excisionsThe clinic has 1 full-time GP, Practice Manager, Practice Nurse, Medical Assistant, and Reception staffAfter HoursThere will be no after-hours responsibility for this role, as the Principal Doctor and MOPP for Gin Gin Hospital handle on-call duties for the hospital.Gin Gin and District InformationGin Gin is a small rural town on the Bruce Highway situated about 40 minutes from Bundaberg, 45 minutes from Bargara and 350 km from Brisbane.
It is a scenic area with a notable main street and extensive sugar cane, avocado farms, macadamia farms, small cropping and cattle properties.
The township has most facilities available, including pharmacy, primary and secondary schools, golf and bowls clubs, IGA, newsagency, two butcher shops, hairdressers, hardware, swimming pool, cafés and coffee shops, two hotels and all emergency services.
The population includes a mix of young families, semi-retired and retired people, and many patients travel through as we are on the highway.
