About the Role


The Lead Educator will be responsible for delivering high-quality early childhood education and care, supporting children's learning and development, and ensuring programs align with the Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF) and National Quality Standards (NQS). The role requires strong leadership, planning, and communication skills to guide educators and maintain a safe, inclusive, and enriching learning environment.


Key Duties & Responsibilities


(Aligned with ANZSCO

* Develop, implement, and evaluate educational programs to support children's learning and developmental needs.
* Lead, guide, mentor, and support assistant educators in daily routines, classroom management, and program delivery.
* Provide high-quality care, supervision, and engagement for children across all age groups.
* Observe, record, and assess children's progress and maintain individual learning portfolios.
* Ensure compliance with National Quality Framework (NQF), National Quality Standards (NQS), and centre policies.
* Foster positive, respectful, and collaborative relationships with children, families, and team members.
* Create safe, stimulating, and developmentally appropriate learning environments.
* Maintain accurate records, documentation, and reporting as required by regulations.
* Promote children's wellbeing, health, hygiene, and safety at all times.
* Assist with organising learning activities, events, and daily routines.


Mandatory Requirements

* A relevant early childhood qualification (e.g., Diploma of Early Childhood Education and Care or equivalent).
* Minimum 1 year of paid work experience in early childhood education or childcare.
* Current Blue Card/Working With Children Check (or ability to obtain).
* Current First Aid, CPR, Asthma & Anaphylaxis certification (or willingness to obtain).


Other Relevant Skills & Criteria

* Strong understanding of EYLF, NQS, and NQF regulations.
* Excellent communication, teamwork, and leadership abilities.
* Ability to create developmentally appropriate programs and learning environments.
* Cultural sensitivity and the ability to support diverse families and children.
* Ability to manage documentation, observations, and child development records.
* Strong behaviour guidance skills and a nurturing approach.
* Reliability, professionalism, and a commitment to children's wellbeing.
