Sakata Clinic is looking for a Receptionist to join our boutique surgical practice.

Exceptional customer service: You’re a people person who prides yourself on going above and beyond for patients and enjoy interacting with a diverse range of people. Empathy is a must as you will need to be patient and understanding when dealing with sensitive situations for post-surgical patients, patients dealing with a challenging situation, and the elderly.
Communication skills: You will need to be able to confidently and articulately communicate in-person, on the phone, and in writing.
Attention to detail: Strong focus on accuracy and thoroughness in administration tasks is critical as your work with medical records.
Organised: Time management skills are a must - it's important that quiet days are used efficiently to complete admin work in preparation for busy clinic days. This position shares a workload with another part-time Receptionist, so a clear, consistent administrative approach and good communication around unfinished tasks is a must.
Professionalism: From your personal presentation to the way you communicate, it’s essential that you exhibit a high standard of professionalism that helps our patients feel comfortable and reflects the trust that they put in our services.
Trustworthy: Patient and business confidentiality is essential when working within a sensitive medical environment.
Adaptability: Willingness to learn new systems and processes and are confident with computers to quickly master new programmes
About Sakata Clinic
We are a boutique private Colorectal surgical practice led by experienced Colorectal Surgeon Associate Professor Shin Sakata. A/Prof Sakata places a high priority on patient care and expects this to be exemplified by all members of the team.
Our practice uses Gentu practice management software. Experience with this software should be mentioned in your application. We are a private billing practice that participates in the Gap Cover programme.
About this role:
This position will be one of our front-of-office receptionists, serving as the first point-of-contact for patients who are phoning and visiting the office. You will make the first impression for our practice, which is vital to building trust with our patients and making sure they feel comfortable in our clinic. On busy clinic days, you will play a vital role in ensuring that the day runs smoothly, ensuring patient needs are met and our Surgeon has the information and preparation needed prior to meeting with them.
You will work closely with our Clinic Coordinator, supporting them by ensuring patients are responded to in a timely manner, paperwork has been prepared, and administration records are kept appropriately, including through accurate data entry.
A/Prof Sakata consults every second Saturday; this position is needed on these days to greet patients.
