**About the opportunity**
The aim of this role is to assist the WHS Manager to ensure a safe workplace for our teams in accordance with relevant legislation, and provide safety mentoring and support to tradespersons and apprentices.
**As the Work Health and Safety Officer, we are looking for someone who will have**:
- Providing support to the Supervisors in WHS issues related to the site.
- Assist in incident investigations with Sodexo and reporting.
- Conduct joint weekly site safety inspections with supervisors at each project, prepare weekly toolbox topics and attend pre-start meetings.
- Maintain training matrix onsite using SkyTrust and arrange the expired trainings/ VOCs as required with approval of MRP Manager.
- Conduct monthly safety meetings in camp.
- Assist in reviewing SWMS.
- Maintain and update L2 Risk assessment & project HSEQ plans and procedures onsite.
- Carry out Critical controls field verifications onsite.
- Assist with weekly and monthly client reporting.
- Liaise with clients, suppliers and contractors as required.
- Check and report compliance to GBSC policies and procedures onsite.
- A track recorded of ensuring the No. of LTI's or major incidents are recorded.
- A track recorded of undertaking observational safety walks / Site Inspections completed.
**To be successful you will have**:
- A WHS Qualification.
- Current valid Driver's License.
- Minimum 5 years' experience.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Moderate proficiency in MS Office.
- A genuine understanding and interest in working within a small to medium proactive business environment.
