Job Description:

Select Carbon is an end-to-end carbon service provider with over a decade of experience working with landholders to develop, manage, and report on carbon farming projects. We offer options for land managers to integrate carbon projects into their farming businesses through a system- and science-based approach, aiming to contribute to climate change action by increasing carbon storage in vegetation or soil, empowering people, and strengthening land-based businesses.

As Shell's first acquisition globally for its Nature-Based Solutions business, Select Carbon invests in agricultural land management, forests, grasslands, wetlands, and other ecosystems worldwide to reduce emissions and capture CO2 while supporting productivity, biodiversity, and local communities.

Role Overview

The Soil Carbon team possesses expertise across farming systems, agronomy, soil microbiology, precision agriculture, spatial analysis, remote sensing, and soil sampling. We work with growers and advisors to screen projects, conduct feasibility reports, develop land management strategies, track activities, and measure soil carbon stocks using the Soil Carbon Method in the ACCU Scheme.

The successful candidate will act as a primary contact for growers, advisors, agribusinesses, regional farming groups, and other stakeholders. Your reputation and connections will be vital in building new business in the soil program. You will provide leadership and business development based on your experience and reputation in the mixed farming sector.

We prioritize high-integrity carbon projects, combining practical farming knowledge with an evidence-based approach to practices that increase soil carbon without harming productivity. Projects are co-designed with growers to align with their business goals, supporting or enhancing productivity and profitability.

This leadership role will contribute to delivering high-quality projects and ensuring compliance within a culture of continuous improvement, fostering trust with customers and stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

* Build new business for the Soil Carbon program.
* Serve as a key contact for the sector and supply chains.
* Advocate for science-based, high-integrity carbon projects.
* Provide data and insights to the team and management.
* Manage relationships with stakeholders and partners.
* Lead and support the Soil Carbon team in communication and priorities.

Qualifications and Experience

* Tertiary education in Agribusiness, Agricultural Science, Agronomy, Soil Science, or related fields.
* Additional qualifications in Project Management or Business Development are highly valued.
* Driver's License with 4WD experience; first aid training provided.
* Experience in mixed farming and agribusiness sectors.
* Strong network and trust-building skills.
* Knowledge of carbon farming, the ACCU Scheme, and environmental constraints.
* Willingness to travel regionally.
* Proven ability to implement practice changes to improve productivity and sustainability.

What We Offer

Join us to work on impactful carbon projects, develop your skills, and be part of a values-driven culture that values honesty, integrity, and respect. Benefits include flexible working arrangements, competitive salary, paid parental leave, diversity and inclusion initiatives, and career growth opportunities.

Note: We support flexible working; please specify your preferences in your application.
