The Thoracic & Sleep Physician provides consultant‑level clinical care across all aspects of sleep and thoracic medicine, including outpatient services, inpatient ward coverage, on‑call duties for sleep and acute NIV, daily clinical administration, and outreach clinics (Caboolture Satellite Health Centre) as required.
About you
Our ideal candidate will be someone who can carry out the following key accountabilities in accordance with the Metro North Health's values:
* Fulfil the responsibilities of this role in accordance with Queensland Health's core values, as outlined below.
* The Thoracic & Sleep Physician will be recognised as having specialised knowledge in the field of Thoracic & Sleep Medicine
* Operational responsibilities: Participate in the efficient running of the Sleep Disorder Centre (SDC) including being involved in the strategic planning, in collaboration with the Director of Sleep Medicine.
* Producing appropriate clinical activity, outcome data and quality activities.
* Ward rounds of general thoracic patients (rotational) and inpatient consults (in hours).
Occasional assistance with Motor Neurone Disease (MND) outpatient clinic when other consultants are on leave.
