We currently operate almost 150 stores across Australia and NZ, with more on the horizon.We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Payroll Manager to join our finance team. In this critical role, you will be responsible for migrating our payroll system from Preceda to DayForce, overseeing all aspects of payroll processing, ensuring accurate and timely employee payments, and maintaining compliance with Australian and New Zealand legislation.Key Responsibilities:Manage the smooth transition of payroll migration across Australia.Oversee the end-to-end payroll process for all employees on a fortnightly cycle.Ensure compliance with relevant Australian and New Zealand payroll legislation, including the Fair Work Act, Awards, taxation laws, superannuation, and state-specific requirements.Maintain accurate payroll records within our HRIS/payroll system, including employee data, leave balances, and tax information, in accordance with data privacy regulations.Respond promptly to employee inquiries regarding payroll, providing clear explanations of employment and taxation laws as needed.Prepare and submit payroll reports to internal and external stakeholders within required timeframes.Manage superannuation contributions, ensuring timely and accurate processing per regulations.Process termination payments accurately and in compliance with employment law.Stay updated on payroll legislation changes and implement necessary system and process updates.Collaborate with People Experience and finance teams to ensure data accuracy and resolve discrepancies.Train and coach managers to ensure payroll compliance.Implement and maintain secure and efficient payroll systems, ensuring data integrity.Conduct regular payroll audits to ensure accuracy and compliance.Skills & Experience:Tertiary qualifications in a related discipline.Proven payroll management experience within Australia, preferably in retail or hospitality.Comprehensive knowledge of Australian and New Zealand payroll laws, taxation, superannuation, and industrial relations.Hands-on experience with payroll software, ideally DayForce and Preceda.Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills, with a focus on accuracy and compliance.Excellent communication skills to explain complex payroll information effectively.High attention to detail and confidentiality.Ability to work independently, prioritize, and meet deadlines.Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.Interested?
