About The Role
As a key member of our mining sales team, reporting directly to the Senior Area Sales Manager (QLD), the Key Account Manager shall be Responsible for the maintenance and service of our customers in Regional QLD areas. This position can be based in either Mackay or Townsville.
Key Responsibilities:
* Develop sales through effective communication of the value of dealing with DGL including our price, technical backup, and distributor strengths. The goal is a minimum growth in reagent sales of 15% per annum.
* Maintain the current sales base to existing customers.
* Work with other staff in developing business as part of a team in selected target accounts.
* Sell products at approved prices.
* Establish networks with Industry Associations that allow networking within the target industries.
* Always operate in a safe manner.
* Always operate in a cost-effective manner with a view to minimizing the commercial costs
* To liaise with end-users, clients, contractors, and customers.
* Build strong customer and supplier relationships whilst providing technical advice and support.
* Develop portfolio plans and ongoing sales strategies to maximiser profit and grow sales in new and existing accounts.
* Undertake regular visits to major client/customers to verify the attainment of customer satisfaction.
* Provide or facilitate management reports, budget forecasts or other survey data that may be requested by Senior Management.
* Supervise, provide training, and mentor junior staff.
* Other duties as requested from time to time by management through your direct supervisor.
Role Requirements
* A high degree of commercial acumen. (i.e., excellent communication skills, businesses development, contract negotiation, and marketing skills)
* Experience (5 years) in a similar role
* Demonstrated experience in sales growth opportunities against objectives and implementing a plan to improve.
* The ability to self-promote through a variety of channels, social media, and business networks.
* Background in technical sales
* Demonstrated experience in building on customer relationships, converting and increasing sales, and ultimately supporting an external sales team.
* Driven to achieve sales success and make a difference.
* The ability to undertake drug and alcohol testing ensuring fitness for work.
