We are currently seeking an experienced Leading Hand to join our commercial construction client on a large-scale multi-storey residential project. This is an excellent opportunity to step into a key leadership role on a high-profile build, supporting site management while driving productivity, safety, and quality on site.
About the Role
As a Leading Hand, you will work closely with the Site Supervisor and Project Manager to coordinate daily site activities, oversee trades and labour, and ensure work is delivered safely, efficiently, and to program. You will lead by example, maintaining high safety standards and strong team performance across all stages of the build.
Key Responsibilities
* Supervise and coordinate site labour and subcontractors
* Read and interpret plans and specifications
* Ensure works are completed to schedule and quality standards
* Monitor and enforce WHS compliance across site
* Conduct toolbox talks and assist with site inductions
* Operate machinery and equipment as required
* Liaise with site management regarding progress and issues
* Maintain a clean, safe, and organised work environment
Essential Requirements
* Proven experience as a Leading Hand on commercial or multi-storey residential projects
* Strong understanding of construction sequencing and structural works
* Excellent communication and leadership skills
* Construction White Card
* Asbestos Awareness Training
* Crystalline Silica Exposure Prevention Training
* Current tickets/licences for:
o Forklift
o Telehandler
o Materials & Personnel Hoist
