Mutual Muse Northcote is in need of an experienced Assistant Manager and Senior Buyer to support our Store Manager and wider team.
The ideal candidate will have a thorough and wide ranging knowledge in local and designer brands. Experience working in secondhand resale in some capacity would be a bonus. The candidate will use their attention to detail, knowledge of fashion, brands and customer service experience to sort, scrutinise and price garments for the store.
Who we are
Mutual Muse is a second hand fashion business in Naarm / Melbourne. We have two brick and mortar stores and an e-comm store.
Everything in our stores is bought directly from our customers. Mutual Muse's big difference from other second hand retailers is that we don't operate on a consignment model - when you sell your clothes to us we give you cash or store credit up front.
We are a purpose-led organization who are making a difference via the circular economy.
What your role will involve
As Assistant Manager, you will support the Store Manager across all facets of day-to-day operations - all of the usual retail tasks such as processing sales and inventory, merchandising, opening and closing and other general duties. You will be working closely together to provide support to your team in any way they need and providing kind and genuine customer service to everyone who enters the store.
As a buyer you will use your pre-existing skills along with Mutual Muse training material and guides to fill our stores with a consciously-curated array of garments for our diverse range of customers. You will make decisions about what we put on our racks(and understand why)!
Who you are and what you know
We are looking for candidates with experience managing a small team and the ability to run the store while your manager has their well-deserved weekend break. At a base level you will have excellent communication and problem-solving skills and enjoy building relationships with your colleagues and customers.
To be a Mutual Muse buyer you will..

* be immersed in trends, style and fashion
* have a vast knowledge-base of local and international brands
* be passionate about the circular-fashion economy, its values and ethics
* have good research skills and an eye for detail
* Be able to think objectively, with nuance and under time-pressure
What we can offer you
* The opportunity to work for a close-knit, small business with big dreams!
* A supportive, nurturing and collaborative environment. We have an amazing team that is diverse, creative and passionate
* A space to explore your strengths and share you ideas and see them through
