Marsh is seeking candidates for the following position to be based in the Sydney office:
Underwriter.
Prime Responsibility:
Underwrite business in accordance with the Victor Insurance business plan within set underwriting rules, service standards and within designated underwriting authority.
Accountabilities:
Technical Performance;
1. Achieve underwriting results and growth (through new business and renewals) in accordance with plan and budget.
2. Determine the acceptability, conditions and pricing of routine moderate toplex insurance risks and agree coverage within business strategy, risk appetite, regulatory requirements, and product offerings within designated authority level.
3. Maintain in-depth knowledge of current legislation, underwriting acceptance levels, systems and underwriting guidelines.
4. Identify new business opportunities within underwriting appetite.
5. Ensure adherence at all times to the underwriting guidelines.
Process;
6. Assist the Senior Underwriter with the renewal process, endorsements and new business quotations within authority.
7. Actively and methodically manage the scheme renewal process, including timely preparation of renewal submissions to the Capital Provider/Insurer.
8. Identify process improvement opportunities.
Customer Focus;
9. Build and develop relationships with brokers, the broader Marsh business and with Capital Providers/Insurers.
10. Deliver first-rate service to brokers whilst managing insurer interaction professionally and sensitively, observing strict confidentiality and discretion.
11. Ensure timely and accurate responses to brokers and other stakeholders.
12. Deliver timely decisions and problem-solving solutions for customers and brokers.

Technical/Job Knowledge - Consistently applies specialist, technical and generalist skills and knowledge, including professional accreditations to assist client facing colleagues to provide the highest levels of service and support. Effectively employs standardputer resources toplete work and project tasks.
Qualifications:
Professional Accreditation/Membership;
19. Ideally you will have ANZIIF Associate Insurance qualifications.
20. Prior experience in Underwriting multi or single linemercial business and domestic products.
Educational and other Requirements (Preferred but not essential);
21. Broad insurance industry knowledge.
22. Proficient in Microsoft Office products in particular Microsoft Excel.
23. Previous experience with Sunrise / Underwriting System favorable.
24. Ability to deliver results on time and in full.
25. Excellent and confidentmunicator in all forms.
26. Team player with high integrity and energy.
