We're looking for a solutions-focused leader to play a critical role in supporting our internal advisory teams, providing trusted, expert guidance to our members and stakeholders.
Based in our Brisbane head office, you will be a proven people leader, responsible for:
* Building and empowering a capable, engaged team—fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous development
* Providing accurate, timely, and practical advice across a broad range of issues which may include regulatory compliance, licensing investigations, home warranty insurance, payment claims and schedules, general contract advice, and technical building matters under the NCC or Australian Standards
* Acting as an escalation point for complex matters, offering clarity and sound judgement
* Collaborating with stakeholders to identify emerging issues and shape policy and advocacy priorities
* Developing and delivering (as appropriate) industry education, training, and guidance materials to promote best practice
* Representing Master Builders at events and contribute to national committees and working groups, with occasional interstate or intrastate travel required.
What you need:
* Relevant qualifications (trade or tertiary)
* Proven industry knowledge, developed through direct and practical experience in the sector
* Demonstrated experience distilling complex technical advice in an easy-to-understand manner. This may include advice on matters such as regulatory requirements and obligations under the Queensland Building and Construction Commission Act 1991 and Building Industry Fairness (Security of Payment) Act 2017, National Construction Code and Australian Standards
* Proven ability to influence and negotiate favourable regulatory and policy outcomes
* Track record of leading high-performing teams that are collaborative, engaged, and aligned with organisational goals
* Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, tailored to diverse audiences
* Commitment to customer-centric service delivery
* Well-developed commercial acumen with a strategic approach to decision-making.
* Confident and effective public speaker.
