Central Coast Local Health District is seeking a skilled professional to manage chronic pain patients across the region. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading and supervising medical and surgical trainees, residents, and medical students in the management of chronic pain.
The ideal candidate will have strong connections with Royal North Shore Hospital and the University of Newcastle, and possess experience in teaching the management of the deteriorating patient. A demonstrated interest in quality improvement methodologies and an understanding of how the district cares for the community are highly desirable.
Responsibilities
* Manage chronic pain patients from Hawkesbury to Lake Macquarie
* Lead and supervise medical and surgical trainees, residents, and medical students
* Contribute to palliative interventions where needed
* Work constructively and effectively in a multidisciplinary team environment
* Develop and implement quality improvement initiatives
Requirements
* Be a Fellow of the Faculty of Pain Medicine, Australian and New Zealand College of Anaesthetists
* Have appropriate experience to practice as a Senior Medical Practitioner in Pain Medicine
* Demonstrate excellent interpersonal and communications skills
* Demonstrate a willingness and ability to teach and mentor junior staff
* Hold recognised specialist qualifications and an unrestricted or 19AB exempted provider number
