proactive General Manager - Sales
to guide and grow a developing sales team, building on work already underway to turn it into a cohesive, consistently performing sales organisation
The Opportunity
This is a senior commercial role reporting directly to the Chief Revenue officer with primary responsibility for the
Australian and New Zealand (ANZ) sales function
.
You will:
* Lead, coach and structure the sales team
– working with Business Development Executives and Junior Sales Trainees to put in place clear rhythms, expectations and KPIs, and helping them become a focused, functioning sales group.
* Shape and execute the
sales strategy for ANZ region
and, aligned with global objectives, with a strong emphasis on new client acquisition while nurturing strategic accounts.
* Build and manage a
disciplined, forward‑looking pipeline
, ensuring quality discovery, clear qualification and progression through the sales stages, rather than pure activity volume.
* Develop and deepen
senior stakeholder relationships
with key customers, acting as a trusted commercial partner and representing B2BE in the local market.
* Partner closely with
Customer Success and Solutions Delivery
to ensure smooth handover from sale to delivery and a consistent, high‑quality customer experience.
You won't be starting from zero; the foundations, clients and strategy are in place. But this is still very much a
"hands‑on build" role
: you'll continue grassroots rebuild of the sales function, putting in structure, process and coaching to lift performance over time.
What You'll Bring
We're looking for a
practical, sleeves‑rolled‑up sales leader
who enjoys building capability as much as closing deals.
Essential:
* Proven experience
managing and developing B2B sales teams
(Sales Manager, General Manager, Country Manager or similar), including coaching, performance management and hiring.
* A track record of
driving new business
while also growing strategic accounts in a consultative, solutions‑led environment.
* Demonstrated ability to
create and manage a structured pipeline
, using CRM stages and data to forecast accurately and prioritize effort.
* Strong communication and negotiation skills – comfortable leading complex commercial discussions, articulating value and maintaining margins.
* Confidence working with sales budgets, KPIs and financial measures to steer performance and report to senior management.
Ideal, but not essential:
* Experience in
fintech
, e‑commerce, supply chain or broader B2B SaaS/IT solutions.
* Familiarity with selling automation, AI‑enabled or transaction‑heavy solutions where reliability, speed and accuracy are core to the value proposition.
We are very open to candidates from adjacent B2B technology markets who are keen to step into fintech and supply chain/e‑commerce automation.
