The position is responsible for leading the curation of an engaging exhibition program and the day-to-day operations of a contemporary public art museum. This role will create and deliver a wide range of engaging contemporary art exhibitions, developed collaboratively and in consultation with the MAC yapang Aboriginal Reference Group.
* This may involve working across departmental service delivery, Monday through to Sunday; 5am – 11pm.
* The role is located at the Museum of Art and Culture, yapang with occasional visits to external sites/depots.
* A NSW Working with Children's Check for paid employment must be completed prior to commencement, which will be subsidised by the department.
* The role will also support the acquisition of RSA, Working at Heights, and First Aid certification.
* From time to time, the role may involve working as a sole officer within the facility.
We are seeking an enthusiastic and authentic Curator to lead the development of engaging, vibrant, and immersive programs of diverse exhibitions across various media and assist in the growth and development of the City's visual art collection.
The ideal candidate will have a wide variety of experience within the public art galleries sector with a strong focus on engagement.
We want to hear about your experience developing innovative exhibitions, including exhibition design, writing, and the creation of catalogues and public programs.
You will need project management skills to manage simultaneous initiatives, coupled with excellent interpersonal and collaboration skills.

Competitive salary commencing from $91,571 per year, plus industry-leading 12% superannuation, 35-hour working week on a nine-day fortnight, long service leave after five years, mentorship, and a supportive work environment.
