About the role:
This is an integral role in our finance team with the mandate to set up and drive positive change. Reporting to the Financial Controller, we are looking for a dynamic Financial Accountant who can be part of our team in the preparation of our financial reporting. This position requires a focus on process improvements with a view to implementing on time and accurate reporting every month. Based in Eagle Farm in Brisbane, you will be responsible for providing reporting and analysis for our end of month financial reports. At RWC, we operate as one global team, so you will be part of a broader group of finance professionals located in the UK and USA. You will enjoy being innovative and thinking outside the box, and be comfortable respectfully challenging the norm.
What you will need to do:
- Participate in a close knit team for Australia’s end-of-month journals, accruals, prepayment amortisation, lease accounting, supporting schedules, & balance sheet reconciliations performed within the deadlines set.
- Responsible for the Fixed Asset Register management, creating and closing internal orders, monitoring asset spend, analysing capital work in progress (CWIP), capitalising assets and applying depreciation rates and useful lives in line with company policies, capital spend reporting and associated schedules.
- Experience with Cost Accounting is desirable as this role will help support the Cost Accountant with material standard costing for manufactured and purchased products and components on an as needed basis.
- Assist with external auditor’s samples at year end and any other times.
- Assist with internal auditor queries and samples.
- Creation & management of employee profiles for expense claims and travel needs and payment of the same.
- Co-ordination with other financial accountant team members to achieve the above.
- Participate in collating data for our FBT return, BAS return, Australian Bureau of Statistics surveys and other reports as required.
- Ensure there are processes and procedures within finance to support timely, accurate and efficient reporting whilst complying with company's global and local policies and procedures.
- Occasional support in cash flow reporting and approval of supplier payments.

- You will hold a bachelor’s degree in Commerce, Economics or Accounting.
- 5+ years of accounting, finance, or related experience.
- Membership of a professional accounting institution would be a distinct advantage.
- Experienced in SAP S/4 HANA, Oracle or similar accounting system.
- Advanced Excel skills for analysis and reporting (pivots, lookups, nested formulas).
- Advanced reconciliation skills.
- Analytical ability and effective communication skills across all levels of staff within the business.
- Adaptability and strong positive work ethic.
- Organised and able to meet deadlines.
- Manage competing priorities under pressure.
