Apply now Job no: 499651Work type: Permanent Full TimeClassification: Band 7 - Commencing at $103,066 paCategories: Project Management, Environment & SustainabilityAbout the role:In this role, you will have excellent project management skills for planning, programming and delivery of new and renewed infrastructure assets, for asset maintenance and for on-ground works to manage erosion and land instability.Key responsibilities include:Oversee the planning, management and renewal of the City’s infrastructure assets in places of environmental significance such as marine and coastal reserves, wetlands and waterways, and nature reserves managed by the City’s Environment and Natural Resources Team. This includes boat ramps and jetties, artificial reefs, seawalls, fishing platforms, paths, constructed wetlands, and erosion protection measures.Prepare and maintain an Asset Management Plan for infrastructure located in places of environmental significance, including conditions reports, maintenance schedules and service levels, in partnership with key internal and external partners.Provide advice about planning for renewal and/or proposals for new infrastructure in places of environmental significance including in master plans, marine and coastal plans, policies, asset management plans, guidelines, project briefs, scope of works and/or specifications.Leading, directing and managing staff, contractors and consultants.Act as one of Council’s principal advisors and supervisors for erosion and landslide control in places of environmental significance.About you:To be successful in this role, you will have a tertiary qualification in either Project Management, Engineering, Natural Resource Management and/or Environmental Sustainability with several years’ experience in the same or like fields and/or post graduate qualification.Demonstrated experience protecting biodiversity and landscape values with a goal of improving their extent, quality, and amenity where applicable.Experience in developing innovative responses to coastal protection with an understanding of climate change impacts that draw on research and the results of ongoing monitoring.Sound knowledge of the Victorian Planning System, EPBC Act, and the Marine and Coastal Act.Ability to provide strategic and policy advice on environmental issues, particularly in relation to biodiversity conservation, capital works and landscape protection.Experience in leading staff, consultants and contractors.Experience in project management and applying for permits.Current Victorian Drivers Licence.Preferred candidates will be required to undergo a National Police Check as part of the recruitment process (funded by the City).If this sounds like the role for you, then click apply now!Child Safety Responsibilities:We are committed to being a child-safe organisation and have zero-tolerance for child abuse.
