Why are we hiring for this role?
This role is a pivotal technical position within UpGuard's marketing team, focusing on the full-stack development of our website.
You'll contribute to building robust, high-performing web experiences, from front-end interfaces to back-end systems (largely leveraging Netlify).
You'll help evolve our tech stack with modern frameworks like Astro and work with a cross-functional web team to translate design concepts into functional realities and ensure our website stands as a leading example of modern web development in the SaaS space.
What will you do?
Full-Stack Web Development: Take ownership of both front-end and back-end development for UpGuard's marketing website, ensuring seamless integration, high performance, and scalability.Tech Stack Evolution & Implementation: Research, adopt, and implement new web technologies (with a focus on Astro and Netlify) and contribute to architectural decisions and best practices.Build Interactive Experiences: Develop dynamic content, including tools, calculators, and programmatic features, collaborating with designers to realize UX concepts.CMS Integration & Optimisation: Work with modern CMS platforms, optimizing integration and performance to support content delivery and marketing initiatives.Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with web designers, project stakeholders, content strategists, and SEO specialists to implement UI/UX designs and ensure technical SEO.Performance & Security: Focus on website performance, accessibility, responsiveness, and security across devices and browsers.Maintenance & Support: Provide ongoing maintenance, troubleshooting, and support for existing website features and infrastructure.
What will you bring?
Full-Stack Development Expertise with emphasis on front-end skills: 3+ years of experience with a strong portfolio, ideally in a SaaS environment.Modern Web Technologies: Proficiency with front-end frameworks (e.g., Astro, React, Vue, Svelte) and back-end languages/frameworks (e.g., Node.js, Python, Ruby) and cloud/IaaS platforms.CMS Proficiency: Experience working with and optimising various Content Management Systems.UI/UX Implementation: Ability to translate design mockups and UX flows into functional web interfaces.Problem-Solving & Collaboration: Strong analytical skills and ability to work in a cross-functional team.Code Quality & Best Practices: Commitment to clean, well-documented, maintainable code and adherence to industry best practices.
What will give you an edge?
Experience with Infrastructure-as-a-Service platforms or cloud platforms (e.g., Netlify, AWS) and CI/CD pipelines.Familiarity with database design.Experience with Jamstack architecture.Experience with internationalisation (i18n), content translation, and regionalised product offerings.Experience or strong interest in developing with Astro and understanding of its architecture and benefits.Understanding of web analytics and A/B testing implementation.Self-starter attitude with the ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.Experience working in cybersecurity or a related technical B2B field.
