The Eva Copper Mine Project
This is a greenfield resource poised to become the largest new mine in Queensland, Australia. It is located in Cloncurry on the traditional lands of the Kalkadoon people.
The project is owned by Harmony, a world-class gold and copper mining and development company with assets in South Africa, Australia, and Papua New Guinea.
Job Summary
The Rebar Superintendent will be responsible for the direct hire scope of works. The superintendent will monitor all appointed direct hire Supervisor and sub-contractor's job site activities and ensure that the construction operations and contractor's performance follow project ES&H, quality, schedule requirements, whilst maintaining effective relationships when interfacing with stakeholders.
This role is offered on a FIFO basis to North Queensland, operating on a 2:1 roster.
Main Responsibilities
* Construction monitoring and compliance of direct hire and sub-contractors, ensuring works are carried out as per the drawings, specifications and standards, as per schedule and ensures compliance to ES&H plans, quality standards and local/national regulatory safety codes
* Coordinate performance of the installation contractors, project status, schedule, cost control, change management systems
* Coordinate with contractors, engineers, client, and other stakeholders involved in earthworks and foundation works.
* Planning the craft manpower and interfacing with Industrial Relations for craft recruitment, hiring, and skills training programs.
* Input to ensure continuous construction work fronts availability through review of look ahead schedules, commodity charts, resource charts, engineering deliverables, material delivery schedules and any other service requirements including sub-contractor submittals
* Responsible for reviewing and approving submittals, technical queries, Field change documents and other technical documents including Drawings and As-Builts
* Maintains an effective relationship with other functional departments and coordinates all jobsite contractual activities
Education and Experience Requirements
* Preferably a recognized degree in an engineering discipline or minimum 10 years of experience in civil-rebar and concrete works on industrial plants.
* Minimum 15 years of experience in construction projects in a contractor or a PMC role.
Required Skills and Qualifications
* Experience of large-scale civil and concrete projects
* Experience of managing large civil rebar scopes of work.
* Thorough knowledge of standards, specification and codes as applicable, including various safety procedures and practices associated
* Must be able to demonstrate good communication and interpersonal skills to maintain a positive work environment between all parties including the client, contractors, and other stakeholders throughout the project life cycle.
* Self-motivated individual with ability to work independently and exercise professional judgment, with a passion to take ownership of projects and provide sound technical leadership to contractor's staff and construction engineers
* Demonstrated knowledge of rebar installations for complex formwork systems and installation processes on similar projects.
