Not your average retailer, Salvos Stores is made up of a team of changemakers who are passionate about raising funds to help The Salvation Army provide over one million sessions of care to disadvantaged Australians each year through an extensive network of over 360 retail stores, as well as online.

About the role

As an Area Manager, this is your opportunity to provide strategic and operational leadership to an Area retail team and provide support to Regional Managers and other key stakeholders to drive the delivery of strategic objectives and operational objectives, including sales, surplus, safety and community engagement.

Reporting to the Regional Manager, this is a permanent full time position based in Geelong North.

How you will make an impact

* Collaborate with the Regional Manager to set and execute area and store strategic agendas, including workforce and succession planning aligned to Regional and National strategy.
* Drive store performance by monitoring results, supporting achievement of targets (including eCommerce), and implementing customer-focused strategies.
* Manage and achieve Area financial and operational KPIs, including sales, expenditure, stock, production, and surplus budgets, while adopting proactive cost‐effective measures.
* Oversee store lifecycle activities, including new store openings, renewals, and closures in line with strategic plans.
* Ensure compliance and safe operations by leading adherence to Salvos Stores policies, and managing WHS performance, risks, and improvement initiatives.
* Lead, coach and develop teams, including recruitment of employees and volunteers, and providing training, feedback, and performance management.
* Build and maintain strong internal and external relationships, partnering with logistics, support functions, and TSA stakeholders, and fostering community engagement across all stores.

What you will bring

* Demonstrated experience and success in retail and leadership management
* Diploma level Management, Business or Retail qualification (desired)
* Multi-site retail management experience
* Current VIC Drivers Licence
