The position will be primarily located at Nepean Hospital within the Department of SurgerySuccessful applicants will have completed the Royal Australian College of Surgeons Fellowship Examination and FRACS training.
Those eligible to sit the fellowship exam in the next 3 months and have completed their training may also be considered.

Possess Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons (FRACS) in general surgeryor equivalent as provided for in the Health Insurance Act 1997and the Staff Specialists (NSW) Award.
Evidence of Continuing Medical Education and self-monitoring/audit practices consistent with the scope of practice requirements of the position3.
Sound clinical knowledge in General Surgery - Acute Emergency Surgery demonstrated through successful clinical practice in an environment appropriate to the requirements of the position including evidence of participation in quality assurance activities relevant to the specialty.4.
High level interpersonal and communication skills and demonstrated ability working within a multidisciplinary team.5.
Demonstrated commitment to teaching and junior medical staff supervision consistent with contemporary best practice supervision standards.6.
Demonstrates the skills and attitudes appropriate for practice as a Senior Medical /Dental Practitioner including modelling of a high standard of professional behaviour to junior medical staff.7.
Sound clinical knowledge in the subspecialty of Acute Surgical Unit demonstrated by relevant qualifications and/or appropriate post-Fellowship clinical experience.8.
Familiarity with research concepts and commitment to support basic, applied, or clinical research as required within the Department.Conditions of appointment are in accordance with the Health Services Act 1997, and Staff Specialist (State) Award.Employees and Contractors must abide by the NSW Health Code of Conduct.Successful applicants will be required to obtain required vaccinations prior to commencing employment.
