About The Role
We are seeking both Power Systems Engineers and Senior Power Systems Engineers to support grid connection, modelling, and technical studies across a pipeline of major wind and BESS projects. You'll work closely with global engineering teams and local grid specialists to deliver high-quality studies, optimise connection strategies, and support project delivery.
The role is based in Melbourne, with hybrid/WFH flexibility depending on experience. Part-time arrangements may also be considered.
Responsibilities
Conduct load flow, dynamic, and EMT studies using tools such as PSS/E, PowerFactory, PSCAD, and Sincal
Support grid connection modelling for large-scale wind and BESS projects
Review connection studies, OEM models, and network infrastructure to identify risks and opportunities
Prepare grid connection assessments and documentation in line with NER requirements
Support feasibility studies, project development, and technical due diligence
Work closely with internal OEM engineering teams, NSPs, AEMO, and technical vendors
Provide technical support during commissioning and project delivery (level depending)
Skills & Experience Essential
Degree in Electrical / Power Systems Engineering
Experience using PSS/E, PowerFactory, PSCAD, or Sincal
Understanding of NER, grid connection processes, and Australian NSP requirements
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Preferred (varies by seniority)
Experience across load flow, dynamic/transient, protection, or power quality studies
Exposure to wind turbine or BESS modelling (highly valued)
Python scripting for study automation
Experience dealing with NSPs, OEMs, or AEMO
Senior candidates: ability to lead studies, interface with stakeholders, and mentor junior engineers
