About the opportunity
We're looking for a motivated and adaptable Project Officer to join our Health and Safety team. In this role, you'll support the delivery of strategic prevention initiatives and safety improvement programs that make a real difference to workplace health and safety across Victoria.
Working as part of a flexible, multi‐disciplinary team, you'll collaborate across the organisation and with external stakeholders to design, implement and evaluate projects that address complex safety challenges. You'll play a key role in helping employers, workers and duty holders better understand their rights and obligations under the OHS framework.
These roles play an important part within the Prevention, Strategy & Planning function at WorkSafe, contributing to the delivery of coordinated, portfolio‐wide approaches to improving health and safety outcomes in the Victorian community.
Key accountabilities
You'll work closely with Program Managers and project teams to:
* Support the scoping, design and delivery of projects and initiatives
* Engage and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, facilitating workshops and working groups
* Analyse qualitative and quantitative data to inform project planning, decision‐making and evaluation
* Develop project plans, track progress, and report on outcomes and milestones
* Coordinate stakeholder meetings, including preparing materials and capturing key actions and minutes
* Contribute to business planning and the development of strategic initiatives
* Identify opportunities for continuous improvement based on insights, research and evaluation
* Support the development of communication and training materials to enable successful program delivery
You're a proactive and adaptable professional who thrives in a fast‐paced, collaborative environment. You bring strong initiative, enjoy working across multiple projects, and are confident engaging with a wide range of stakeholders. You've likely worked in a similar role with some project management experience, where you've contributed to or established project processes and delivered outcomes in complex regulatory environments. Some understanding or experience of prevention and behaviour change methodology would be beneficial.

* Excellent written and verbal communication skills
* Ability to work independently while contributing to a team environment
* High attention to detail and a focus on quality outcomes
* Experience interpreting policy, legislation or technical information (desirable)
* You understand prevention and behaviour change methodology and have a strong knowledge of Occupational Health and Safety (OHS).
* Desirable qualifications in OHS, project management, public health or health promotion
