About the Role
The Head of Department - Student Services is a pivotal leadership role suited to a dedicated, energetic, and passionate individual committed to student success and wellbeing. This role requires a proactive leader who deeply understands their student cohort and works closely with teachers to deliver programs that engage, support, and challenge learners. As the leader of the Student Services team, you will be responsible for tracking and monitoring student progress to maximise educational outcomes, while upholding the Student Code of Conduct across behaviour, uniform, attendance, and suspensions. You will collaborate with stakeholders to implement proactive behaviour plans and provide tailored case management where needed. Central to this role is leading goal-setting initiatives, fostering student self-efficacy, and maintaining a strong focus on teaching and learning. Through your leadership, you will nurture a sustainable culture of care, connection, and wellbeing for all students, staff, and the broader school community.
Your Responsibilities
As the Head of Department - Student Services, your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
* Provide leadership and guidance for the implementation of innovative measures aimed at improving student learning outcomes and attendance in schools where a significant percentage of students may have a disadvantaged background, ensuring quality learning outcomes for all students.
* Where requested, prepare all data returns for the Principal.
* Provide management and engagement strategies including induction activities of new arrivals, and advise on specific academic, social and emotional needs of new arrivals.
* Monitor students' individual performance and behaviour and develop and implement intervention strategies where necessary.
