Establishedin ****, Danila Dilba Health Service (DDHS) isan Aboriginalcommunity-controlled organisation committed toproviding culturally appropriate, comprehensive primaryhealth care services and community development within the Biluru (Aboriginal)community of the Yilli Rreung Region in the Northern Territory.
ABOUT THE ROLE
Provide clinical leadership to a widerange of clinicians working with children, specifically aiming to drive accessto culturally appropriate, high quality, comprehensive paediatric healthservices for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people / clients of DDHS. This role will have a focus on developmental paediatrics / general paediatrics and will work as part of an integrated, multidisciplinary team. There is a significant primary care component of this role as well as working withspecific programs across the service. There is also a requirement to participate in the development of improved child health services appropriate to meeting the needs of DDHS.
WHAT YOU WILL DO
Awareness and understanding of DDHS strategic plan.
Participate in provision of specialist paediatric services across DDHS.
Participate in paediatric service towards the vision of creating and sustaining a nation-leading culturally appropriate child health service for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children.
Play a leadership role in the coordination of diagnostic and therapeutic services for children with developmental conditions including Foetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder (FASD) and other neurodevelopmental conditions.
Participate in Registrar, Aboriginal Health Worker and medical student supervision, education and staff development sessions to upgrade skills.
SELECTION CRITERIA
AHPRA registration with post-Fellowship clinical experience.
Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians - General Paediatrician.
Highly developed communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to liaise with people from a wide range of cultural and social backgrounds.
Strong organisational skills and demonstrated ability to plan, manage and prioritise tasks and resources to deliver outcomes within time and budget considerations.
Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team in a cross cultural and complex environment.
Understanding and respect of the importance of the role of Aboriginal Community Controlled organisations, Aboriginal Health Workers and other Indigenous staff in Aboriginal Health and be willing to respect and support the DDHS, Aboriginal Health Worker First policy.

EMPLOYMENT IS SUBJECT TO
Willing to undergo a Police Check.
Ability and willingness to obtain a Working with Children Clearance (Ochre Card).
Current driver's licence.
Current CPR certificate or the preparedness to gain one within 6 months of commencement.
Fully vaccinated against COVID-19 or an exemption as listed on the Australian Immunisation Register (AIR) be submitted.
