We are seeking a highly skilled, driven and strategic individual to join our Forward Planning Team. As a Strategic Planning Coordinator, you will play a crucial role in planning for future development and growth in one of the fastest growing Local Government Areas in NSW. You will be involved in a broad range of planning projects including preparation of local strategies and policies, response to Government policies, precinct planning, planning proposals, planning agreements and infrastructure contributions.

What this role looks like:
* Contribute to the overall planning and management of development and growth in The Hills.
* Advise on the impact of government reforms & policy changes with appropriate responses.
* Assess and report on proposals to amend the local planning framework.
* Monitor and maintain planning instruments to ensure compliance with Council's statutory responsibilities.
* Monitor and manage developer contributions and related financial systems.
* Provide strategic town planning advice to internal customers within the organisation.
* Help coordinate the output of the Forward Planning Team including Town Planners and support staff.
What are we seeking in our new team member:
* Bachelor's Degree in Town Planning or related field.
* Drivers Licence (Class C) – NSW.
* 5+ years experience in strategic land use planning, infrastructure contributions and policy preparation.
* Demonstrated experience in town planning, urban design, recreation and social planning, land development, communication, problem solving and conflict resolution, project management, strategic and technical analysis and interpretation, research and documentation and staff mentoring.
* Highly developed strategic analytical, investigative and problem solving skills and a demonstrated ability to produce thorough and well researched reports.
