Overview
Instrumental Music Teacher (Guitar, Keyboard & Drums) – Honeywood Music, an independent Perth music community based in Wandi, is expanding its teaching team. We are seeking a creative and dedicated educator to join us in October 2025.
Position
Instrumental Music Teacher (Guitar, Keyboard & Drums) to join our team in Term 4, 2025. The role begins with paid mentorship and shadowing of our Lead Instrumental Teacher for up to two weeks, before taking on a substitute teaching load of approximately 35 students for 4 weeks while building your own student base. Lessons are delivered in our teaching space in Wandi during after-school hours.
* Start Date: October 11, 2025 (Open Day)
* Required Availability: Mon–Fri 3:00–7:00pm, Sat 10:00–2:00pm
* Contract: 10–12 hours per week, part-time
* Pay: Competitive hourly rate based on experience + 12% superannuation
Selection Criteria
* Proficiency in guitar, keyboard, and drums (demonstrated by audition/video)
* Proven commitment to quality music education
* Ability to read, write and teach music literacy
* Experience teaching students of all ages and abilities, including those with additional learning needs
* Inclusive and engaging teaching style that inspires a love of music
* Excellent communication skills with students, families, and colleagues
* Commitment to support Honeywood Music in the wider community through events, concerts, workshops, etc.
* Demonstrated interest in professional development as both teacher and musician
* Ability to work as part of a collaborative team
* Own reliable transport
