This is a 4-year fixed-term apprenticeship where you will learn a range of specialist practical skills and knowledge relevant to carpentry. Apprentices work with a qualified tradesperson, focusing on construction, erection, installation, finish and maintenance of Council assets for public, residential and commercial buildings. This apprenticeship is targeted at the employment of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander People. Responsibilities
- Learn and perform carpentry tasks under the supervision of qualified tradespeople
- Assist with construction, erection, installation, finish and maintenance of Council assets
- Participate in on-the-job training and formal training to obtain Certificate III Carpentry & Joinery
Qualifications & Requirements
- Interest in working outdoors and learning new skills
- Desire to complete a Certificate III Carpentry & Joinery
- Ability to commit to a 4-year apprenticeship term

What is Next
If you are successful to the next stage, you will attend a group assessment centre for a 3-hour period between 30 September and 2 October 2025, followed by a pre-employment medical in October 2025.
