Job Purpose
To represent the Category function for ANZ MPM business across all channels
Work as part of a cross functional team to champion the use of insight and Category thinking internally and with customers.
Be a key stakeholder in range reviews, NPD planning and Go to Market plans.
Develop compelling Category selling stories
Lead reporting and analysis agenda for key categories
Work in an agile manner and flex resource against strategic priorities
Key Responsibilities
This role deals with a wide variety of tasks including, but not limited to the following:
Global 5P category strategy & tactics to drive growth:
Develop, test, analyse and evolve 5P plans by market & channel
Annual Business & Commercial planning
Brand & Marketing
Be a data & insight champion & lead best practise:
Identify & leverage sound Category insights to drive
MPM impact in market via range review & JBP process
Internal decision making & planning
Lead, champion and educate the use of data within the business: sources, requirements and how they are used to add value.
Shape the standardised global reporting
Support
CHANNEL AND CUSTOMER:
Key stakeholder in the customer range review process, representing a strategic Category view as well as compelling, insight driven selling stories to achieve MPM objectives in market
Contribute to and attend customer meetings as required
Strategic planning, support MPM agenda to optimise customer/ channel mix
Influence customer & channel strategy & deliver strategic long-term growth
Support development of aligned business plans across customer portfolio
PRODUCT:
Work closely with the Product Team to deliver
NPD pipeline planning, commercialisation & Go to Market (5P plan)
Strategic Category mapping, vision & planning
Provide
REPORTING & INSIGHT:
Work closely with Sales and Finance teams to optimise shared business reporting
Provide ad hoc analysis & insight to support projects internally and externally, in line with strategic priorities
Assure, check, and monitor accuracy of scheduled delivery of data from data providers e.g., Quantium, IRI Australia
Knowledge, Skills and Experience
4 Years + Category Management/ Commercial experience, within an FMCG environment
Evidence of developing and executing category strategies, tactics, and plans
An understanding of retailer landscapes, objectives, processes, and ways of working
Experience of using retailer data platforms e.g., Quantium & IRI for reporting & analysis
Strong analytical skills & highly numerate with the ability to turn data into actionable strategy and insights
Evidence of creating compelling sales stories based on insight and thinking
Fully computer literate; advanced Excel & PowerPoint in particular
Good presentation skills for both external & internal business meetings
Ability to build open and honest relationships with people across all levels of the business
Comfortable working with large amounts of complex data and information from a variety of sources
Flexible working hours to accommodate cross-time zone meetings and WIPs
High level of self-supervision, organisation & discipline – full preparation for meetings, prioritization of work, delivery of meetings & timely agreed follow-up.
Effective relationship builder – dedicated to meeting expectations of internal and external customers, developing, and maintaining effective 3rd party relationships gaining trust and respect.
Effective communicator – ability to communicate with consumers, suppliers and key stakeholders clearly and concisely within the business
